There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling den gaming is not allowed. Eight casinos are established in a generally tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. The original Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 table games. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel building that features numerous luxuries on top of the casino, which provides 10,000 square feet of 130 one armed bandits and 88 table games.
